My query(ies) are as under :

1. Why does RBI increase CRR 0.25 % and SLR 0.25 % (both) when it can also raise only CRR 0.50 % or only SLR 0.50% ? (In other words what is the difference between the two situations ?)

2. Roughly SLR is 25 % and CRR is 5 % (at present 6%), then it means bank has to keep 30% (25+5) reserve aside, it means bank can lend maximum 70 % (100-30) , then how Credit Deposit ratio becomes more than 70 % (at present 73 % in SBI)?
